The school was founded in 1738, using money left by Miss Elizabeth Farmor and Miss Mary Baker. When first opened, the school accepted only 50 boys from inside of Fairford. In 1852, the school began to accept girls in a separate section of the school. The school became co-educational in 1922 and the sections combined. It moved to its current location in 1961 and became an 11 to 18 Comprehensive School in 1966.〔http://www.farmors.gloucs.sch.uk/content.aspx?strPage=farmors-school-about-us〕
